Led by team captains Emma Parks and Andrew T., Obliteride 2024 was a huge success for Team Westlake! Alongside industry and community partners, our team rode 800+ miles last Saturday in support of life-saving cancer research and treatments for Fred Hutch. As a team, we have raised over $28k this year, with the overall event raising over $7.7 million and counting! A BIG thanks to our donors and team sponsors this year: Workpointe, Formaspace, Abbott Construction, Avara Construction, and Sellen Construction and McKinstry. Already looking forward to next year!?

As part of a new corporate headquarters, Westlake Consulting Group recently completed the initial phase of a project that consisted of a conversion from an existing office to 10,000-sf of R&D lab space. This included upgrades to the building HVAC and electrical capacity and specialty fit-out and hook-up for unique equipment.?WCG is providing design and construction project management services, as well as lab move planning services, for this confidential, multi-phased, new campus headquarters in Redwood City, California. Led by Brent Zavada from our San Diego office and Max Labo from our Bay Area office, we are thrilled with the completion of this successful phase and look forward to completing the remainder of the campus soon.

Westlake Consulting Group appreciates all of our friends and industry partners that visited our Open House and Obliteride fundraiser last week to benefit Fred Hutch. The Westlake Consulting Group team in the Bay Area recently completed a confidential project in Sunnyvale, California constructing R&D labs and support spaces related to PCR testing developments. The project also included fit-up of cold boxes and tenant improvement renovations to the client’s open office space, conference rooms, and breakrooms. Existing MEP infrastructures were modified to accommodate the client’s specific lab rooms and office space requirements.?Congratulations to Brian Young on a job well done! Giving back to our local communities is very important to Westlake Consulting Group. We embrace opportunities to contribute and make an impact in each of the communities we serve. Last month, our San Diego office hosted the READI program, a diversity and inclusion initiative in collaboration with the University of San Diego and Project Next that partners with local high schools. Through the READI program, we were able to spend an afternoon with local high school students interested in the construction industry. During this time, we shared Westlake Consulting Group’s services, what we do, and highlighted how we do it. We also spent time discussing what a construction management career could look like for each of them. Our San Diego team appreciated the opportunity to inspire and empower someone in the next generation about the construction industry, while emphasizing the significance of diversity in our industry and beyond.
