The sum of our efforts is a comprehensive community development approach that transforms neighborhoods and delivers hope and opportunity to our neighbors who are most in need. Since our founding in 1981, Westhab has built 1,094 affordable housing units, moved 9,149 households from homelessness to affordable housing, placed 8,099 people into employment, and delivered services to over 10,000 homeless and at-risk youth. We are thrilled to announce that United Way of Westchester and Putnam, awarded Westhab a $20,000 grant from the Pepsi x Mary J. Blige Strength of a Woman Community Fund! This fund was established to empower local nonprofits that support underserved and marginalized women, including ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) women in Yonkers, NY. It’s part of PepsiCo and Mary J. Blige's powerful mission to uplift women through the Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit, rooted in Blige’s hometown. This generous support will fuel the transformative programs at our Dayspring Community Center, offering vital services like a food pantry, job training, after-school program, teen center, and a summer camp.
