FirstLight Federal Credit Union: FLFCU awarded $2,000 scholarships to several students, continuing their legacy of supporting education and career growth since 2023. ?? Matco Tools, A Vontier Company: Every Automotive and Diesel graduate at Western Tech receives a $11,000 toolbox, and this year, Matco Tools awarded additional $3,000 scholarships to over a dozen students, empowering the next generation of skilled trades professionals. ?? Numerous students have secured positions with esteemed NHRA teams such as Bob Tasca Racing (Ford Performance), Cruz Pedregon Racing, and Kalitta Motorsports. We were thrilled to welcome two influential leaders from the National Institute for ASE - National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence to Western Technical College! Donna Wagner, VP of Industry & Media Relations, and Tony Molla, Texas Field Manager for ASE's Education Foundation, toured our Automotive, Diesel, and Performance Tuning shops, guided by Jack Werner, VP of Strategic Partnerships, and Phil Giner, Director of Automotive & Diesel Programs. Donna and Tony’s visit showcased our commitment to excellence in technical education. They engaged with our automotive and diesel faculty in a valuable Q&A session, discussing the latest ASE certifications, industry updates, and gathering insights to keep our programs aligned with the highest standards in the field. During their visit, Donna and Tony also joined us for our annual Motorsports Day event, meeting NHRA: Championship Drag Racing’s 3X Top Fuel World Champion Antron Brown, who inspired our students with his passion for automotive technology.
