Today, we honor our military veterans. They embraced their responsibilities, approaching them with unwavering integrity, dignity, and respect. Their choice to serve is grounded in character, duty, and sacrifice. Through their discipline and commitment, they shaped the futures of countless others. For these reasons, we proudly call them heroes.

We gave our training room a little facelift this week with the help of Sean Fields at The Fields Group! Every single new hire at WRS spends their first day on the clock in this room with our Safety Manager, Andy Stuth, as he introduces them to our culture, people, and way of working. It was important to us that this room housed a physical representation of our core values, and Sean did a phenomenal job of bringing them to life in the form of banners! We're excited to roll these designs out to more offices and sites across WRS, stay tuned! (And bonus points if you can find our one printing error! Don't worry - it's being fixed next week ??) #TheWRSDifference

Another great visit with Squalicum High School's Construction Class. ?? Thank you SQHS staff and Jacob Brouwer for inviting us in for some great conversations and problem-solving. We are, once again, impressed with our local schools and the work they're doing to bring trades education to students. Keep it up, Whatcom County! A quick shoutout to our own people too - Sam Kloes (General Superintendent), Tyler Yost (Safety Professional), and Ezra Stump (Recruiting and Apprenticeship Coordinator). Earlier in September, we were contracted by RAM Construction for the building, widening, and overlaying of Telegraph Rd in Bellingham! After 5,900 tons of asphalt, extensive man hours, and an impressive effort from our paving crews, the mainline was completed last week. Proud of our team for pushing through some long days to make a project like this happen! #TheWRSDifference #PavingNation

Ever wonder how asphalt pavement is replaced? There's a machine for that! Before we can lay down new asphalt, the existing asphalt has to be ground up and moved out. This week, our team was hard at work doing just that in Birch Bay Village. #TheWRSDifference
