Last week, leaders from around the company gathered for our annual Leadership Summit. The team talked through company updates, the importance of our culture and values, as well as leadership development. Of WRS's 62 leaders in attendance, 48 were internally promoted to their current roles. The priority we put on our people is part of #TheWRSDifference. Checking in on the team in Boise! Our Idaho team has been busy with a blast project that went 32 feet into the ground through hard basalt rock. It's no simple task, as the crew carefully makes placements that will fracture, absorb, and direct. #TheWRSDifference

We had a great time at the Lummi Nation School Try-A-Trade Day, where we brought an excavator that students could try their hands at controlling. It was impressive how many students were able to transfer the balls from on top of the cones into the bucket on their first try! Thanks to Lummi Nation School for having us, and thank you to our WRS crew Sam Kloes, General Superintendent, Tom Carroll, Asphalt Operations Manager, and Ezra Stump, Apprenticeship & Recruiting Coordinator for making it so much fun! #TheWRSDifference?

Representing WRS at the AGC's Women in Construction Celebration event! Cindy Bowne made WRS proud as she sat on a discussion panel at the event Thursday night. Cindy has been with WRS as a laborer for two and a half years and is in her fourth year of the apprenticeship program. What is your favorite part about working for WRS? - “The people I work with. They’re like family. They don’t hesitate to teach and to guide and to hold my hand if needed. I feel very safe, and it’s great.” What was your takeaway from the panel discussion and event? - “That there are a lot of great, powerful women out there in our industry. It’s inspiring. I learned a lot.” Any advice for young women thinking about joining the construction industry? - "Don't give up. Just because this outlet didn't work doesn't mean that the other door is not going to just be exactly what you're looking for." #TheWRSDifference #WICWeek2025

Our crew was ready for the first snow of the season! ?? A full WRS team effort was out in the community handling de-icing and snow removal to help get roads, driveways, and parking lots cleared. #TheWRSDifference

It was great to have Bellingham Technical College's Diesel Technology program out to visit WRS today to tour the shop! The students brought thoughtful questions, and our team enjoyed sharing insight into the industry and what it's like to work at WRS.
