Character, Chemistry, Competency. It's who we are, and it's how we work. Thank you to Taylor Rubart of Flannel Media for his commitment to our story. He helped us tell it in a way that both honored our legacy and pointed to our future, all through the lens of the people who make it possible. And we can't forget Liz Astra (Editor), or Kyle Ilenda (DP). Thank you both for bringing your best to this project! Your work behind the scenes does not go unnoticed. And most importantly, thank you to our team. Whether you're featured in this video or not, know that WRS wouldn't be what it is today without you. Let's keep going ?? www.wrsweb.com #TheWRSDifference #CharacterChemistryCompetency

Checking in on the team in Boise! Our Idaho team has been busy with a blast project that went 32 feet into the ground through hard basalt rock. It's no simple task, as the crew carefully makes placements that will fracture, absorb, and direct. #TheWRSDifference

We had a great time at the Lummi Nation School Try-A-Trade Day, where we brought an excavator that students could try their hands at controlling. It was impressive how many students were able to transfer the balls from on top of the cones into the bucket on their first try! Thanks to Lummi Nation School for having us, and thank you to our WRS crew Sam Kloes, General Superintendent, Tom Carroll, Asphalt Operations Manager, and Ezra Stump, Apprenticeship & Recruiting Coordinator for making it so much fun! #TheWRSDifference?

Representing WRS at the AGC's Women in Construction Celebration event! Cindy Bowne made WRS proud as she sat on a discussion panel at the event Thursday night. Cindy has been with WRS as a laborer for two and a half years and is in her fourth year of the apprenticeship program. What is your favorite part about working for WRS? - “The people I work with. They’re like family. They don’t hesitate to teach and to guide and to hold my hand if needed. I feel very safe, and it’s great.” What was your takeaway from the panel discussion and event? - “That there are a lot of great, powerful women out there in our industry. It’s inspiring. I learned a lot.” Any advice for young women thinking about joining the construction industry? - "Don't give up. Just because this outlet didn't work doesn't mean that the other door is not going to just be exactly what you're looking for." #TheWRSDifference #WICWeek2025

It was great to have Bellingham Technical College's Diesel Technology program out to visit WRS today to tour the shop! The students brought thoughtful questions, and our team enjoyed sharing insight into the industry and what it's like to work at WRS. Big thanks to Shop Manager Randy Andrews, Apprenticeship & Recruiting Coordinator Ezra Stump, and BTC's Diesel Technology Instructor Marshall Link for coordinating.

As 2024 comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect... Some fun facts and figures from the past year: - Our asphalt teams laid over 75,700 tons of asphalt, and sealcoating teams used 57,000 gallons of sealcoat and 800 gallons of paint. - Refinery and trucking teams completed over 2,360 trips from HF Sinclair in Anacortes to BP Cherry Point, moving over 79,000 tons of coke (a carbon-rich solid material that is a product of oil refining). This makes up over 264,600 miles roundtrip. As our BP Site Manager pointed out, that’s equal to almost 11 trips around the Earth, or from the Earth to the Moon (and then some)! - WRS used over 405,000 gallons of all fuel in equipment. - Overall, WRS employees worked over 475,000 hours across 1,130 jobs. - As a company, we purchased 185,302 tons of aggregates and asphalt. - WRS teams played in 10 golf tournaments! We won’t count how many we won… - WRS donated to or sponsored events for 15 local non-profit organizations. - WRS currently has 245 employees. 20% of them have been here for 10+ years! We can't wait to see what 2025 has in store. #HappyNewYear! #TheWRSDifference

We are excited and proud to introduce the recipients of our 2024 “3C's” Awards, formerly announced company-wide in mid-December. Congratulations to Joe Amarando (left, Character), Daniel Epps (middle, Chemistry), and Tim Greene (right, Competency)! The 3C's (Character, Chemistry, & Competency) are our core values, and these awards help us recognize team members who exemplify our company culture. "[Joe] always has a positive, even-keeled attitude, and is easy to work with. He would help anyone at the drop of a hat." "[Daniel] cares about each person working with him, and he really wants each person to be successful in what they do and to feel valued at the end of the day." "[Tim] is always willing to help you get a better understanding of concepts you don't quite understand. He can see the small and big picture on projects." Joe, Daniel, & Tim – we are grateful to call you colleagues, teammates, and friends. Thank you for setting an incredible example! #TheWRSDifference
