#motivationmonday Do you know the one thing that ties every successful person together... Failure. Failure happens to all of us. But, we must all remember that failure is only negative when we take nothing away from it. We have to reform our feelings toward failure and see it as a way to learn and move forward, not retreat because it didn't work the way we expected. We often see the most successful people celebrated for their achievements. What we don't get to see are the dozens of times they attempted something that didn't work, and had to go back to the drawing board. Never let failure be the end. The 9th Annual Foothills Veterans Helping Veterans Stand Down took place on November 7th at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center. This year, 37 different agencies attend to provide support to over 220 military veterans! This stand down was a great success as it assisted many Veterans that were affected by Hurricane Helene. NCWorks Career Center Staff were on hand to assist veterans with no cost employment resources! Also during this event, members of the Quilts of Valor organization presented 4 Quilts of Valor to select veterans. NCWorks Career Center JVSG Staff member Rodney Woody was awarded one of these amazing quilts! A Quilt of Valor? (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The quilt is an expression of gratitude and thanks to the service member. It’s presented to honor the service member for leaving all they hold dear to serve, whether in time of crisis or in time of peace. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.” #NCWorks #westernpiedmontworks #HireaVeteran #veteransstanddown #vets #veterans
