🎉 Introducing Project Manager Christopher Pray – A Rising Star at Western Builders! We’re excited to spotlight Chris, who joined Western Builders six months ago and has already made a tremendous impact. Starting with two fast-paced projects at Westfield State University, Chris hit the ground running: ✔️ Scanlon Hall 3rd Floor Renovation: Transformed this former dormitory floor into faculty and staff office spaces in just 4 weeks! The scope included painting, tile carpeting, and vinyl wall base for 36 rooms, along with painting 5 corridors. ✔️ Lammers Hall Rehabilitation: Successfully completed the painting of over 150 dorm rooms, corridors, and lounges across 4 floors, ensuring the building was ready for students by Fall 2024. The project also expanded to include New Hall, adding more dorm rooms, common areas, and stairwells to be ready for student athletes. Now, Chris is leading a milestone project for Western Builders: South Holyoke Homes Phase 2, our very first modular construction build! This innovative project is not only exciting for our team but also a pivotal step in bringing efficient, sustainable housing solutions to the community. A few Western crew recently completed the rebuilding of docks and railings at The Crew House on Paradise Pond for #SmithCollege. On Friday, a few dedicated team members from Western, along with our colleagues from our sister company Appleton Corporation came together to make a difference in our community. We spent the day volunteering with Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity on a meaningful project on Dwight Street in Springfield, MA. With a spirit of collaboration and a lot of hard work, the team framed walls for three bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor, built a staircase, and prepared the foundation for a front porch. We even dug four-foot holes and lugged 80lb bags of concrete. These tasks that challenged us but also brought us closer together. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, knowing that our efforts will contribute to a home that will provide safety and comfort for a family. There’s something truly special about being part of a project that will have a lasting impact on our community. Following a lightning strike and subsequent fire and smoke damage at Courniotes Hall and the adjacent Lissa Building at American International College, Western collaborated closely with AIC & Phase Zero Design to complete this comprehensive restoration and renovation project. The project involved rebuilding and upgrading the lab spaces & facilities to meet modern standards, ensuring the continuity of AIC's nursing program. Our team’s dedication and problem-solving skills ensured the Gross Anatomy Lab was ready for the spring semester, with the rest of the facilities completed shortly after, allowing the college to resume its full educational offerings. At Western Builders, we pride ourselves on overcoming obstacles and delivering quality results through strong collaboration and innovative solutions. Hawley Manor is a planned development of 7 residential townhouse buildings in the heart of downtown Northampton. Each building consists of 4 townhouse units with 1,800+ square feet of living space on 3 floors. The units have 3 ½ baths, 3 bedrooms, an attached one car garage, kitchen and dining room with a patio and balcony. The project is a Zero Energy Ready Certified project and has been scoring HERS ratings in the low 40s. Each building has been designed so the owner can incorporate a solar array on the roof and potentially operate their unit as net zero.
