WAHRA is an association for HR professionals and others who support the HR function. We seek to network, grow our credentials through certification (SHRM and HRCI), and expand our understanding of the HR landscape as it evolves in response to market pressures and governmental regulations. Established in 1966, WAHRA is an award-winning SHRM-affiliated chapter. Our monthly meetings occur the second Tuesday at 11:30 am at The Bakery District in the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith (UAFS) Center for Economic Development. In addition to these chapter lunch-and-learn meetings, our meetings are streamed via Zoom for our members who are unable to join us in person. Reservations are required. I am beyond excited to be able to formally announce the launch of the Western Arkansas Transitional Employment Program! WATEP is a first-of-its-kind in Arkansas and an initiative that I have been advocating for and working to put in place in our community for more than 10 years. This could not have come to fruition without all of the great teams collaborating who believe in this mission, from the state level down to our local partners.
