Learn about, apply to and interview for seasonal jobs at our parks, tomorrow, Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our job fair at the Westchester County Center in the Little Theater! Attendees can apply on the spot to the numerous positions in the Westchester County Parks Department including Nature Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, and Recreation Attendants. Locations span the entire Westchester County Parks system at our 50+ facilities.

We're proud to share that Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O'Connor, will lead a session about Navigating Traditionally Male-Dominated Industries at the fifth annual Westchester Women’s Summit in observance of Women’s History Month, tomorrow, Friday, March 14!

Westchester County Parks, in partnership with the Westchester Parks Foundation, is offering scholarships to 10 local students who want to work as a Westchester County Parks Lifeguard this summer. The funding will cover their costs to take the required Lifeguard Certification courses. To be considered for the scholarship, students age 15 and older are encouraged to submit an essay of at least 250 words that explains why they want to become a Westchester County Parks Lifeguard and how they would benefit from the experience. Last week, Cranberry Lake Preserve held its Night of the Salamander event, a yearly phenomenon in which mole salamanders migrate to their breeding wetlands. The team was able to get footage of this red-backed salamander making its way over to the vernal pool!
