Carnelius D. Gilder, Ed.D, the Superintendent of Schools for our client, WEST SABINE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, was recently named the 2024 Region 7 Superintendent of the Year. The Superintendent of the Year, an award program sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), chooses candidates for their strong leadership skills, dedication to improving educational quality in their districts, and commitment to public involvement in education.
During his time at West Sabine ISD, Dr. Gilder has transformed the district by implementing teacher incentives, fostering academic growth, increasing enrollment and parent and family engagement, restructuring the Gifted and Talented program, investing in the Career and Technical Education programs, and enhancing the Special Education department. All of these areas have cultivated the district, creating a more inviting and inspirational environment for learning and success.
Dr. Gilder remarked on his win, saying, "I am deeply honored to receive this award and am proud to contribute to the outstanding service and academic initiatives that make our school district thrive."
