Happy Birthday to Make-A-Wish Michigan! To commemorate Make-A-Wish? Michigan’s 40th birthday, we embarked on an unprecedented journey in August and granted 40 wishes for a trip to a Florida theme park … ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Because the illness impacts the entire family, we take great care to ensure the child's family is part of the wish journey. This means that?over?230 people were part of these 40 wishes - our wish kids, their parents and their siblings?all experienced the power of a wish! Our wish families were treated to a birthday celebration at Give Kids the World, a dessert party and private viewing of the fireworks at their favorite theme park, and had a chance to connect and build relationships with other Michigan wish families. It was a magical week!!? ? Our chapter is so grateful for the support of our staff, board, supporters and volunteers to give these families this experience during this transformational trip. We cannot believe its already been a year since we've opened our Grand Rapids office. This office has allowed us to grow and we couldn't be happier with our decision. From idea to opening was less than 6 months. One of our core values is GRIT- and our team showed a lot of GRIT getting this off the ground! Been a great first year! We love our community!
