Celebrating 35 Years: Congratulations, Sandra Taylor! Join us in congratulating Sandra Taylor on an incredible 35-year journey with West Marine! Sandra began her career as a cashier at our Long Beach, CA store, quickly stepping into a POS Supervisor role. After seven years in-store, she took her talents on the road, joining the Merchandising Task Force to set up and remodel stores nationwide—playing a key role in integrating E&B Marine after its acquisition. As a Project Lead, she led crews for 12 years, shaping the future of our stores across the country. When her traveling chapter ended, Sandra made Hawaii her home, taking on multiple roles at Sand Island, from Truck Crew Lead to Inventory Backup. She played a pivotal role in relocating to the Honolulu store, ensuring a seamless transition. Today, as Assistant Manager, she continues to drive excellence—leading the truck crew, store merchandising, and inventory management with dedication and passion. Beyond West Marine, Sandra enjoys growing palm trees from seeds, tending to her garden, and watching football with her husband. Her advice for a successful career? "Have fun, keep a positive attitude, and roll with the changes—because there will be many along the journey." What she loves most? The people. Over the years, Sandra has built lifelong friendships with both colleagues and customers, making West Marine truly feel like family. Celebrating 25 Years: Congratulations, Bobby Greenwell! Join us in congratulating Bobby Greenwell on 25 incredible years with West Marine! Bobby began his journey with us as a District Manager overseeing the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island, and Delaware markets. Over the years, he has taken on various roles, including District Manager, Store Manager, and Asset Protection Director, managing territories from New York to Puerto Rico. Bobby has also played a key role in three grand openings at some of our largest locations, including the world’s largest marine center in Fort Lauderdale. An avid water enthusiast, Bobby spends his free time fishing and day cruising with family and friends. He and his wife raised their two children on the water, fostering their passion for angling and marine adventures. Bobby’s advice for a successful career at West Marine is to seek out work that aligns with your skills and take on special assignments that challenge you. He credits these experiences with building the leadership skills and knowledge that have driven his career success. When asked what he loves most about working at West Marine, Bobby shared: "The constant change. Every five years or so, we’re nearly unrecognizable from the previous period. This evolution energizes both crew and leaders, keeping us aligned with trends and customer interests. It feels like embarking on a new career with each retail or marine industry adventure."
