Day 2 of the 2024 National Junior Olympic Championships: West Coast Striders (CA) athlete Azriel Cuevas concluded his summer season with a brilliant effort in the 3000m finishing 38th in the nation. Azriel had quite the story journey this year with this season being his first time competing at the USATF youth club level. This past winter Azriel broke his foot before the winter season started which forced him to sit out the entire winter season. With a strong mindset and a will to come back strong mixed with some strategic training. Azriel rehabbed his way back on the track to not only run again but to compete and qualify for the 2024 National Junior Olympics. True definition of #StriderStrong as he dealt with a high level of adversity. Awesome season Azriel! You have a lot to be proud of. Sonoma County CA, is proud you! Northern California is proud of you! The West Coast Striders Track Club program is proud of you! Up next for Azriel is XC, senior running for Piner High School. #StriderStrong????
