Here’s a look at the fantastic things that happened last week at Blackhawk Academy, Hope D. Wall, West High, and our four middle schools! At Herget, Mrs. Frances' CTE-Foods class sizzled as students made chicken fajitas while practicing stove safety, measuring, and teamwork—delicious and educational! Blackhawk celebrated growth as a former transition student returned to mentor the next generation at Organic Life—watching success come full circle is inspiring! At Hope D. Wall, students explored the snare drum and tambourine in music class, while also learning to create eighth notes in Music Theory—such creative Rockets! West High's Spanish 4 students brought the classroom to life with an outdoor market where they bartered and sold authentic products in Spanish—?qué experiencia! At Jefferson, students dove into music technology using Soundtrap to create podcasts and music loops with interviews, sound effects, and multi-track recordings—so much talent! At the Early Learning Academy, our Otter friends are building strong finger muscles for writing as they practice sorting by color using fine motor tweezer work! Jewel students in Mrs. Endean’s class sharpened their vocab with a Quizlet game to prepare for their word stems quiz—way to make learning fun! Washington welcomed back former band student Lexi Dodson, who shadowed Mr. Garland and Mr. Brosious as part of her college program—so proud to see her continue her music journey!
