The Pasifika United Methodist Community acquired a building for ministry with the growing Pacific Islander population in the Las Vegas area. In December of 2023, Pasifika realized its dream to become home to three fellowships, signaling an intentional focus on caring for Pacific Islanders. Joining together three congregations came together under one roof was a first of its kind in the area: First Samoan United Methodist Fellowship (‘New Paradise’), First Filipino-American Fellowship (‘Promised Land’), and First Tongan United Methodist Fellowship (‘Destined for Eternity’).? The new building was made possible with a loan from Wesleyan Impact Partners and local community grants, allowing them to create a larger community and make a more meaningful and purposeful impact on the Pacific Islanders in the Las Vegas Area. McKendree-Simms-Brookland United Methodist Church in D.C. renovated homes, expanded its affordable housing ministry, and launched a new daycare, providing much-needed support and hope to their neighbors and building community. McKendree partnered with Wesleyan Impact Partners in a circle of mission and giving. They believe that their loan payments are a way of giving back to the church and growing other ministries.? Wesleyan Impact Partners provided a flexible-term loan to help McKendree fund their renovation project.
