  • February 2025's Classroom Grandparent of the Month is Grandma Janice Taylor of Allegheny County! Around 16 years ago, Grandma Janice's daughter suggested that she contact the Foster Grandparent Program. Today, Grandma Janice loves that the program keeps her active. "It’s important to be involved and help children," she says. "It’s so rewarding to see how proud the children are when they accomplish something." Grandma Janice tries to pass on the lessons she learned as a child to the children she works with at her Station, Pittsburgh Arlington PreK-8. Outside of her volunteer service, Grandma Janice loves to read, especially sci-fi and murder mysteries. In addition, she enjoys artwork, painting, cooking and sewing. If you or someone you know is age 55+ and loves to volunteer with children, get involved in our Classroom Grandparent Program by visiting https://lnkd.in/g3ZHuQVJ.

Founded in 1986, Generations United's work inspires, empowers, advocates and engages.
