According to data released by naamsa | The Automotive Business Council, October was the best performing month so far this year in terms of new vehicle sales. The result provides a strong start to the final quarter and aligns with expectations for an improved second-half performance from the market. ? “We expect further relief in interest rates during November, which should continue to bolster consumer sentiment and business confidence,” says Lebogang Gaoaketse Gaoaketse, Head of Marketing and Communication at WesBank. “While the market will continue to remain under pressure, all the indicators are in place for the slow recovery of the market to continue.” ? Brotherhood Group: Supporting Men’s Health, Together The WesBank Brotherhood Group was formed in 2018 at WeBank to provide a safe, judgment-free space where men can connect, share, and support one another on their journeys. Recognising the unique challenges men face, the group offers monthly sessions focused on mental, physical and financial well-being among other topics, featuring professional insights from partners like Lyra Health. These sessions are also open to women who are raising boys, broadening the circle of support. In addition to these monthly gatherings, the Brotherhood Group holds exclusive Friday sessions to create deeper mental wellness connections among members. Over time, this initiative has grown to include other departments within the FirstRand Group, even extending online to FirstRand teams in other African countries. Brotherhood members build bonds, share success stories, and empower one another to rise above life’s challenges. This Movember, we’re proudly strengthening these connections even more and raising awareness for men’s health. #Movember #Brotherhood #MentalHealthMatters #MensHealthAwarenessMonth #WesBankCares Mzwandile Mazive

Speaking at the ongoing SA Auto Week, President Cyril Ramaphosa emphasised that South Africa is positioning itself as a global hub for electric vehicles. He underscored the country’s commitment not only to importing EVs but also to becoming a key player in their production, as well as in the manufacturing of EV batteries. Declan Jones (CA)SA, WesBank Head of nav? Marketplace & Ecosystems, highlighted the importance of this vision: "The key takeaway from the President’s speech is that South Africa is open for business when it comes to electric vehicles—not just in terms of imports, but with a focus on becoming a key player in the production of EVs and batteries. Local beneficiation of raw materials is critical so that we don’t have to ship them elsewhere and then import them back at inflated prices. This approach will help grow our economy." This commitment to localising the EV industry is not just about sustainability but also about unlocking new opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and strengthening South Africa’s competitive edge in the global automotive market. #SAAutoWeek #EscapingTheNoise #100YearsofMobility #WeMoveWithYou naamsa | The Automotive Business Council
