how would you or your workplace survive if childcare just ended it?

Today, on Childcare Voters Day of Action, childcare voters come together across the country in solidarity to show our elected leaders and communities that we will be making informed decisions about who will best ensure that we, our children, and our centers are taken care of in this and upcoming elections. We invite you to take the following actions to help make STL’s childcare system more equitable and affordable: 1. Join us at the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen hearing on Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. at City Hall (1200 Market St.) regarding the allocation of the Rams Settlement Money. https://lnkd.in/gRT_cyEu 2. Sign a pledge of support and call on the Board of Aldermen to make early childhood education a priority. https://lnkd.in/gWtNEsBS 3. Canvas with us as we get out the vote to support raising the minimum wage, providing paid sick leave, and achieving reproductive freedom. https://lnkd.in/ghMvYZKg St. Louis City residents have spoken! Early childhood education is a TOP PRIORITY. Let’s come together to ensure our collective voices are heard.?

Celebrated our amazing Founder and CEO Charli Cooksey on Boss's Day this past Wednesday! As a beacon of light and leadership at WEPOWER, Charli’s guidance has lead our organization and the STL community beyond boundaries, uniting us all around a singular, powerful vision of a future where systems are accountable to powerful communities that have been historically oppressed, and nurture our freedom, well-being, dreams, and joy. We enjoyed an amazing lunch from our Business Accelerator cohort member, Adjo Honsou's FUFU n' Sauce and commissioned a pair of custom Air Force 1s from cohort member, Brock Seals as a special gift for Charli! We love supporting our entrepreneurs, especially on special day like Boss’s Day.

Missouri's Latino population is growing —?and fast. The demographic shift is prompting political strategists, both in the state and nationally, to recognize the increasing influence of Latino voters in upcoming elections. But, engaging with this community requires candidates to approach the voting bloc authentically and consider the diverse perspectives within it. St. Louis Alderwoman Daniela Velázquez, the first Latina elected to city office, emphasized the importance of the community's inclusion in the political conversation. “If you're not at the table, you're on the menu," she said. "And if you know anything about Latino cooking, you want our sazón. You want our flavor at the table.” I’ll be diving deeper into this topic tonight at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis’ Anheuser-Busch Hall (Room 0003) from 5-6:30 p.m. I hope to see you there as we explore the Latino community's growing influence in Missouri and the United State's political landscape. A big thank you to everyone who shared their insights with me: Israel Baeza, Republican Pettis County Commissioner; Rosetta Okohson from MO Political Consulting; Ness Sándoval from Saint Louis University; Ben Molina, President of the HLG Hispanic Leaders Group of Greater St Louis (STLHLG); and many more. ?? Read more about the community's emerging political potential in my latest piece for St. Louis Public Radio below. #Elections2024 #HispanicHeritageMonth #MissouriPolitics #Diversity #Latinos

Hey friends, here’s a friendly, snark-laden, humpday public service announcement: WEPOWER is: ???? ONE word, not two. Keep it right, keep it tight. ?? ALL CAPS because we’re not whispering here; we’re proclaiming our unity and strength. ??? FOR community, BY community. It’s about us, all of us, no exceptions. So, while we absolutely love all of our partners and advocates, let’s remember to spell WEPOWER in its full and proper glory. No more We Power, WePower, or even wEpOwEr. Nope. It’s WEPOWER, bold and unapologetic, just like our spirit. Thanks for coming to our TED Talk on the semantics of solidarity. Now, back to your regularly scheduled content ?? ???????????? #WEPOWER #SpellItRight
