National Peer Support and Mental Health Professional Network for Educators, Teachers, Instructors, Aides & Counselors
关于我们
Educators, especially teachers and aides experience a lot of stress due to the nature of the work. Like everyone, they are also susceptible to issues not directly related to work but affecting the desired performance expectation at work. This effort is to connect educators, teachers, instructors, aides and counselors with trained Peer Supporters and vetted Mental Health Professionals across the nation. The grand vision of the product is to serve as a one stop shopping place for Educators to obtain varied treatment options, educational material, external sources, real time interaction with advisors and peers, share survival stories, access lifestyle information, retreat information, etc., Peer Support Group is the first stop for staff to seek advice and counseling from someone they trust in a judgement free zone. Those that opt to talk to a Peer Supporter benefit tremendously. But most often the Peer Support Program is under utilized due to fears of rumors spreading within the educational institution which makes practitioners a little hesitant to seek help. To help solve that problem & to beat the "beauty-shop mentality" commonly found at the departments, WeNeverEducateAlone connects the Peer Support Teams from across the nation. So, no teacher will ever have to think twice before calling a Peer Supporter. With this app, anonymity increases and educators can seek support from anywhere and at anytime. WeNeverEducateAlone portal provides a directory of Mental Health Professionals/counselors and a ton of resources that has been carefully compiled for educators. Every personnel in the department gets his/her own sign-in credentials to access the resources 100% anonymous - we do not track who signs in or how many times. Every institution that joins the network is required to bring 7% to 10% of its size to the Peer Supporters pool. The mental health professionals have extensive experience working with educators and are fully committed to helping the community.

Another great Peer Support Training cohort! Thank You everyone for trusting us with your training needs. Thanks to our wonderful trainers Dan and Tammy at Cornerstone Retreat Center for 1st Responders for conducting this session. Thanks to @des plaines park and our very own Miss Vic from Des Plaines Police Department for hosting this session. And did the weather co-operate or what? Warm, sunny, Indian summer during Halloween - we will take that. Stay safe and be healthy out there everyone. Can't wait for the next session at New Lenox Police Department coming month. Registration for that is already closed. But if you anyone's interested in training this winter season, please reach out to us at [email protected]. As always, members and patrons served on a priority on a first come first served basis. Take care.

Day 1 of exhibition concluded today and what a day it was. From some familiar faces to many new ones and from patrons close-by (Evanston Police Department, ALGONQUIN POLICE BENEVOLENT, etc.,) to interested agencies far far away from us - San Diego, CA, Sitko, Alaska, Northern Ireland, Kazakistan, Bahamas, and plenty more, it was an exciting day. Some pictures from the Day-1. Please enjoy! Looking forward to seeing more friends and soon to be members tomorrow as Day-2 is set to begin. Also, if you are at IPSTA Conference tomorrow at Springfield, IL, please stop by and say hello to our team there as well. ?? ?? ?? #IACP2024 International Association of Chiefs of Police association of chiefs

Please swing by and say hello to our co-founder Bill Kushner. We are excited to see you all and talk about your Officer wellness needs and our nationwide peer support and mental health professional network for the holistic well being of first responders. Trivia time: Where and when did the WeNeverWalkAlone program begin it's humble journey? It was under the visionary leadership of Ret. Chief Bill Kushner?and gentle guidance of Vickie Poklop during there time at Des Plaines PD in May of 2019 at Des Plaines Village Hall. Another curious detail: While we were brainstorming what name to pick for the peer support program, Chief Bill Kushner came up with the name in a flash and it stuck! That was shortest discussion I have ever had in my professional career ?? #IACP2024 International Association of Chiefs of Police
