When Measure partnered with community leaders and the Austin Civil Rights Office, we empowered advocates with the data and support needed to address systemic discrimination based on natural hair and protective hairstyles. Together, we led the charge for the Austin CROWN Act, which now protects Black and Brown individuals in workplaces, schools, and housing across the city. This legislation ensures that people of color in Austin can express their cultural identity freely, without fear of discrimination or lost opportunities.
