For Liz, a York County native, mother,?teacher and?former competitive runner, lung cancer was not top of mind when she visited her physician for treatment of a UTI. Liz’s story is a testament to paying attention to your body and seeking help from your trusted physician when you have concerns. Following her unexpected lung cancer diagnosis, Liz and Dr. Scott Tiedebohl, WellSpan thoracic surgeon, worked together to develop a treatment plan that would get her back to her life quickly. ? ? “Dr. Thiedebohl got to know me as a person. Yes, he was treating me for lung cancer and informing me of the tests and procedures that we needed to do and making me feel like I was part of the decision-making process. But he would also sit and talk with me, ask me about my life and if I was okay through every aspect of the process.”? ? Today, she’s back at school, teaching her fourth grade students, walking outdoors daily, gardening, traveling and enjoying her time with her loved ones. This past summer, she visited France – a trip she once wasn’t sure would be possible.? ? A great day in Hanover, Pa.! We were recently joined by the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce | Hanover, PA and local officials for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the relocation and expansion of orthopedic services in Hanover. This space officially opened to patients in August, bringing our orthopedic and sports medicine care team into an improved space with advanced imaging capabilities, including ultrasounds, X-ray, CT scan, MRI and more – all under one roof, enhancing convenience and access for patients.?
