Meet Gaye Auman! Her family has a legacy of giving and a heart for community care. When her mother celebrated her 90th birthday, she asked for acts of kindness instead of gifts—and their family responded with a generous donation to Wellroot Family Services’ general Christmas wishlist. This moment is even more meaningful because of Gaye’s deep connection to our history. Her father and his siblings grew up at UMCH, where they were instilled with a sense of responsibility and belonging. Her father’s special responsibility? Allison’s visionary leadership has transformed our impact as a nonprofit. As Juanita Stedman, Executive Director of Together Georgia, put it: “Safe to say, we women work outside of the box. Allison busts the box wide open. She doesn’t let the box get in her way, nor does she let those who think things should stay in the box get in her way. She came into Wellroot very focused on what the organization, already well-respected, could do to change child welfare in Georgia. She knew, as we all knew, that we need to reach these families before they reach us.
