The shortage of basketball referees in New Jersey is straining youth sports programs, leading to game cancellations, reduced opportunities for players to compete, and increased pressure on existing officials to cover more events. In response, Wellpoint, is proud to partner with the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF APPROVED BASKETBALL OFFICIALS INC to support Basketball Officiating credentialing courses in NJ. This is our second class and our combined efforts have resulted in the certification of 58 NJ residents in the art of basketball officiating, many of whom will now be able to officiate in underserved communities such as Camden and Newark.
