Over 250 community members attended the "Repack the Backpack" event at Elizabeth Peterstown Community Center, hosted by Wellpoint NJ and Elizabeth Parents and Students Care. Students received school supplies, groceries, and enjoyed activities like music and meeting the Paterson "Jackal." Healthcare professionals were available for health education, screenings, and Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare support.

We're thrilled to share that Wellpoint Maryland has contributed $10,000 to support students at three Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Maryland. This donation is part of our dedication to combating food insecurity and ensuring every student has access to essential nutrition. The funds will benefit the food resource centers at each university: Bowie State University's Nutrition Lounge, Coppin State University's Coppin Corner, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's Food Pantry/Hygiene Closet. We believe that student success begins with meeting basic needs, and we're proud to play a part in helping students focus on their education by providing necessary resources. Together, we're making a difference!

This week, the Wellpoint team had the privilege of attending the Newark Public Library’s 2024 Annual Gala. The event celebrated the library's transformative role, the dedication of its staff, and the power of partnerships in driving collective well-being. The theme of the gala was "Health Care Heroes," and Wellpoint New Jersey's President Dr. Patrick Fox spoke on the importance of whole health and integrating behavioral and physical health.
