As you invite family and friends into your home this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, think about the experience you want to create for your guests. Ask yourself, how can you wow them from the moment they sit down at the table? There truly is something to an artfully curated place setting. Beyond the vessels full of food and your amazing centerpiece, each individual place setting can set the tone for the entire experience. If you’ve looked through magazines or scrolled your social media, you’ve probably seen several different styles and approaches. A place setting is as unique as the person who is creating it, so you can feel free to design to your favorite style, color, shape, pattern, and occasion as you see fit. There really is no wrong way. I always layer mine, starting with a beautiful linen tablecloth. Depending on the linen, I might add a mat or stunning charger. Then it’s time to pull out the wedding or heirloom china and go to town with a dinner plate/salad plate stack. Add the silverware and sparkling crystal for extra shimmer - Don’t forget the water glass or goblet?? I bring it all home with a gorgeous napkin, ring, and gift, special note, or place card for the ultimate WOW ?? Setting the perfect table can be an art, especially at the holidays, so channel that inner artist and go for it this week. Remember, you can just let the creative energy flow. If you still need more guidance, just #Google “Place setting guide” and you’ll find everything you need to make your setting and meal memorable. #placesetting #thanksgiving #healthyholiday #healthyhome #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

Patience is something many of us will need over the coming holidays. Let’s all take a cue from the natural environment and slow down, savor each moment, find perfection in the imperfection, bend, flow, and move at a pace that can’t be rushed. #patience #healthyholiday #healthyhome?#healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

Throughout history you’ll often find paintings where centerpieces abound with fruit and floral. Fruit, in all its varied forms, is a symbol of wealth, abundance, fertility, pleasure, happiness, hospitality, gratitude, and even sovereignty. So, it’s no surprise that we continue to decorate using natures bounty. Bringing fruit into our homes is a juicy benefit to biophilic living. Take the pineapple… It’s anti-inflammatory, highly nutritious, packed full of antioxidants and immune boosters, plus it aids in digestions, pain management, and surgical recovery - And that’s just the beginning. For centuries, the pineapple has been a symbol of generosity, selflessness, hospitality, and celebration. From wallpaper to brass sculptures, paintings to linens, dried to fresh, the pineapple has been used in homes as a beacon of warmth. As you take time to decorate for the Thanksgiving holiday, make sure to incorporate seasonal fruits and veggies into your tabletop display to make your home a cornucopia of health and wellness. #fruitasdecor #pineapple #thanksgiving #healthyholiday #healthyhome #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

I love creating. Period. Stop! It’s not just something I do. It’s something I must do. So when I was asked to design a wreath for a silent auction benefiting Grace Place for Children and Families I jumped at the chance. This 36” wreath became my biophilic-inspired Hygge Holiday masterpiece and now hangs with other wreaths created by my fellow Interior Design Society - SWFL creatives waiting to be bid upon. You can see the wreaths on display at the East West Fine Art Gallery in Mercato through November 20th. The 24-hour live auction starts on November 19th at 6:30pm with a starting bid of $150. You have until 6:30pm on the 20th to place your bid here: https://lnkd.in/eUqqyCd5 Now get to it and place your bid… It’s for the kiddos! #givingback #spiritualhealth #creatingforgood #holidaygiving #graceplace #idsnaples #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

Would your kitchen pass an inspection from a food safety expert? In a recent study, the CDC found that food born illness has increased 42% since 2013. While we can’t always control what happens outside of the home, in our homes we can take preventative measures to ensure we’re safe. To ensure you have a healthy home, take a moment to set your kitchen up for success with this helpful hints. ?Cover Your Food - When food is exposed to air, even in your refrigerator, it can become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria. Make sure you keep your leftovers, raw meats, and produce in airtight containers and use it before it turns - I’m looking at you brown apple slices. ?Do A Quarterly Clean Out - Time to check those expiration dates and leftovers in the fridge and freezer. It is easier to get sick from eating something past it’s expiration date. Toss all those leftovers that are 5 days old (or more) and that goes for expired items too. If you have freezer items that have been there for 3 months or more with freezer burn it might be time to toss them. Better to be safe than sorry. ?Replace The Plastic Cutting Board - Cutting on a plastic cutting board can leach harmful microplastics into your food with each cut and if you’re cutting all the things on the same board you can be cross contaminating. Designate a separate cutting board in the right material for produce/bread (wood, bamboo, or stone), one for meat (stainless steel or non-porous stone), and one for chicken (stainless steel or non-porous stone). Make sure you clean and care for them properly. If you can tackle these three before the holidays get into full swing, you’ll keep your home and your guests safe. #foodsafety #holidayprep #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl

In my opinion, there is nothing more comforting than a big comfy place to settle in with a deliciously soft blanket. This couldn’t be more true than in those moments following a big gathering like with our upcoming holiday feast. The Thanksgiving holiday comes late this year, but that just gives us more time to think about designing the ideal holiday setting. Therefore, I’m intent on creating comfortable gathering spaces for my guests before, during, and after our feast. Creating such a space takes three things: ?Blankets, Blankets, Blankets - Drape a variety of super soft, luxury blankets over the backs or arms of chairs or sofas, so your guests can make themselves comfortable. One thing I love to do is to drape throws over dining chairs to make sitting table side as comfortable as possible. ?Proper Lighting - Use candles to add a soft glow to any seating arrangement and make sure to dim overhead lights to set the comfy vibe. ?The Perfect Scent - Smell can both trigger memories and make memories, but they can also calm and comfort you. Smells that work well in a diffuser, spritz, or candle for calming around the holidays are cinnamon, peppermint, orange, frankincense, lemon, vanilla, and cedar. Start designing your holiday comfort zones now, so you can take full advantage of the comfort and joy throughout this stressful season. #stressrelief #comfortandjoy #holidayprep #healthydwelling #curatedexperience #sustainableliving #biophilicliving #biophilicdesign #wellnessdesign #wellbydesign #environmentalwellness #healthylife #womenshealth #wellness #healthylifestyle #healthymehealthywe #wellnessdesigngroup #midlifewomen #healthymadeeasy #naplesfl
