I am delighted to have had the opportunity to present WELL CARE at the Policy Event on Mental Health organised today by the European Commission DG for Research and Innovation, together with Siri Wiig (Support4Resilience) and Irène Georgescu (Apollo 2028)
关于我们
WELL CARE is a transdisciplinary and participative project in which informal carers and long-term care (LTC) workers, researchers, NGOs, experts and stakeholder organisations within health and social care, psychology, sociology and gerontology work together to strengthen supports available for improving the mental wellbeing and resilience of all carers. Funded by the European Union (Grant Agreement no. 101137468). Views and opinions expressed are however those of the authors only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the Health and Digital Executive Agency. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.

The first part of the webinar will provide the audience with a clear overview of psychosocial risks, protective and risk factors and prevention measures for long-term care workers. The focus will then be broadened, to cover challenges and solutions related to informal carers. Elizabeth will present our project WELL CARE. As the European institutions prepare for a new mandate, it is essential to recall the 2022 European commitment to ensure everyone has access to affordable and high-quality long-term care. Member States are expected to submit their plans to implement the European Care Strategy this week. Today, being an informal carer is associated with higher risks of anxiety and depression,?and the highest proportion of strained jobs is among LTC workers. National governments must address the well-being and mental health of informal carers and care professionals if we want to address the current inadequacy of our long-term care systems. The WELL CARE project is designing solutions based on an integrated care approach, building on stakeholder participation and rigorous evaluation. Evidence-based reforms in policies and practices can improve the wellbeing and resilience of those who provide care on a regular/daily basis. Follow the WELL CARE project for regular updates. #EUCareStrategy #EuropeanCareStrategy #HealthUnion #HorizonEU #ResearchImpactEU #EUInnovation #LongTermCare??#LTC??#healthcare #integratedcare European Research Executive Agency (REA) EU Science, Research and Innovation EASPD - European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities Mental Health Europe Linnaeus University Nationellt kompetenscentrum anh?riga Anziani e Non Solo società cooperativa sociale IRCCS INRCA - Istituto Nazionale Ricovero e Cura Anziani Nederland Zorgt Voor Elkaar (NLZVE) Hochschule Zittau/G?rlitz (FH) University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam)
