There are structural problems that allowed the 23andMe mess to happen. If we don't address them, we'll be watching this movie again (as if we aren't already). CEO Anne Wojcicki knew there was no monetization in prevention or diagnosis—she said so herself in a Bloomberg interview. Yet she kept lying to investors and customers. An honest founder cuts costs early, returning money to investors rather than riding the gravy train until $2.4B evaporates!
