Kicking off this week with the Well Done Foundation and another Plug-A-Versary. On this day four years ago 9/30/2020, the Anderson 007 was plugged and the team from VICE News was there on the ground to cover it all, along with Brian Riebe and Zac Cataldo with the Now You Know YouTube Channel. For the Well Done Foundation, this was a huge milestone during our first year of operations and in the throes of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Being able plug three orphan wells was an amazing feat and the Anderson 007 was our second donor-funded project. The mission of the Well Done Foundation continues with a new generation of “Carbon Wildcats” - Grizzly style. Go University of Montana
The Well Done Foundation is on location with the University of Montana’s Field Methods Class in Montana’s legacy Kevin Sunburst Oil Field performing critical methane quantification and detection with Ventbuster Instruments, ABB and Sensors, Inc. This project is supporting the University of Montana’s Sustainability Department commitment to offsetting the University’s carbon footprint with some homegrown projects, like plugging orphan wells with the Well Done Foundation. A huge thanks to the Mighty Arrow Family Foundation and STUDSON for their support that is helping to sponsor this important project that is making a difference #onewellatatime. #ThrowbackThursday to Earth Day 2023! On this day, we wrapped up an important project in Sandoval County, NM. Partnering with the Trust for Public Land, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish and local communities, we successfully plugged and capped an abandoned gas well on the L-Bar Wildlife Management area. This 53,000-acre site is an absolute gem to be seen, now part of the largest wildlife area in New Mexico, the Marquez State Wildlife Area. But it’s not just about the size – this land also holds deep significance for Native American tribes and is home to over 400+ plant and animal species, such as the pronghorn and pinyon jay.
