Just wrapped up an incredible experience at the Virginia Institute of Government (VIG) and Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia's *Leading, Educating, and Developing* (LEAD) program! ??? This immersive leadership development opportunity was nothing short of amazing. From engaging with thought-provoking sessions to collaborating with an inspiring cohort of professionals, I left feeling energized and equipped to take my leadership approach to the next level. A special shoutout to the amazing "Light Blue" team! ?? The discussions, support, and camaraderie we shared truly made this experience powerful. It was an honor to learn alongside such dedicated and inspiring professionals from across various fields.? And let’s not forget the setting—UVA’s campus is absolutely stunning! Walking through such a historic and beautiful space was inspiring in itself. A personal highlight was visiting the Jefferson School - it's rich history added even more depth and meaning to the experience.? A huge thank you to the UVA facilitators for delivering such a dynamic program. ?? The focus on strategic decision-making and empowering others deeply affirmed the values and priorities I bring to my leadership approach. I’m excited to take what I’m doing to the next level, building on these powerful principles to drive even greater impact! As I departed from the Charlottesville/UVA airport, seeing the message “To be great and good in all that we do” on the exit door was a poignant reminder of the values I aim to uphold in my leadership journey—a perfect closing note to an unforgettable experience. To anyone considering advancing their leadership skills, I highly recommend the LEAD program. It’s an investment in yourself and your team that pays dividends.? The Weldon Cooper Center has released a database tracking solar projects’ progress across Virginia. Elizabeth Marshall, senior program manager of the Cooper Center’s Virginia Solar Initiative, shared the intent to provide reliable data for policy-making and informed public discussions around solar implementation in the state, especially with the growing interest in meeting Virginia's clean energy goals. According to Virginia Business, Dominion Energy has proposed two new energy storage projects for Southwest Virginia that will boost the power capacity in the region as well as diversify the region's tax base.
