Send the Elevator Back Down: Advancing Women into Critical, High-Profile Leadership Roles! Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) is delighted to welcome, Kelly Reo, Executive Director of The Ohio State University Center for Operational Excellence. When women occupy top leadership roles, it’s good for everyone. Research indicates that companies with gender diversity in leadership report better financial performance, improved cultures, and increased innovation. And yet, women still face relentless barriers to promotion and career success. Advancing women into leadership positions requires that those with power yield it as advocates, decentering themselves and leveraging their influence to lift others up. In this webinar, Kelly Reo will draw from decades of cross-industry leadership experience to provide actionable strategies for tackling three major barriers: biases against women, lack of mentorship opportunities, and systemic organizational issues. Kelly will share stories of how she’s used her seat at the table and offer practical advice for seasoned and emerging leaders looking to make a critical difference. Attendees will learn: - How de-centering yourself allows you to highlight the needs and opportunities of others - Why it’s important to understand the root cause of barriers women face in the workplace - How to leverage your power and influence to challenge toxic leadership, promote equity, and create opportunities - What the principles of operational excellence offer leaders seeking to be better advocates and allies Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/gGjPM5bS #WELDUSA #Webinar #careerdevelopment #leadershipdevelopment

Corporate boards come in all sizes and can easily consist of over 20 members. The real work of the board most often is accomplished in the committees, however. Understanding the committee operating model within board governance structure is part of the “ABCs” of knowing how to serve on a board. WELD is thrilled to have Demetries Neely, Independent Director of the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company and Executive Director, King Arts Complex , as our October C-Suite Series speaker. Ms. Neely comes with strong operating knowledge of board committee leadership and structure resulting from her service on multiple boards and prior executive experience reporting directly to the CEO of a Fortune 100 company. Joining the session to interview Ms. Neely is WELD National Board Chair, Annette Hazapis, Head of Americas Global Client Service Centers, AMS. This dynamic duo will provide attendees a strong understanding of the following crucial board governance topics: - Main types of board committee structures - Key attributes of high-functioning board committees - Expectations of board committee chairs - Key reasons to step up to lead a committee - How nonprofit board committee leadership can prepare you for for-profit company board committee leadership (and the ineffective behaviors to avoid) Don’t miss your opportunity to hone your boardroom skills! You never know who might be watching! Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/g5JnR6Rv #WELDUSA #CorporateBoardTraining #CorporateBoard #LeadershipDevelopment
