The Planner III provides mentor-ship and leadership for lower-level planners. Planner II pay ranges from $88,774.40 to $112,465.60 annually, plus benefits. Planner III pay ranges from $93,267.20 to $118,144.00 annually, plus benefits. Weld County covers an area of 3,999 square miles in north central Colorado. It is bordered on the north by Wyoming and Nebraska and on the south by the Denver metropolitan area. The third largest county in Colorado, Weld County has an area greater than that of Rhode Island, Delaware and the District of Columbia combined. The climate is dry and generally mild with warm summers, mild winters and a growing season of approximately 138 days. The land surface is fairly level in the east, with rolling prairies and low hills near the western border. Elevations in the county range from 4,400 to 5,000 feet.

The Weld County Commissioners have officially proclaimed September as Workforce Development Month! This recognition underscores the significance of workforce development and the remarkable efforts by Weld County workforce staff, local organizations, and those dedicated to enhancing job skills, career growth, and economic prosperity in our community. Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) collaborates with five Northern Colorado sector partnerships—healthcare, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, and non-profit—as well as with K-12 education partners and post-secondary institutions to raise awareness of career pathways. This month, the ESWC team is hosting several events open to community members interested in learning more about their local workforce center or expanding their professional skill set: ? In August, Weld County Government hosted the 2024 Commissioners Cup 5k/3k. The annual race was accompanied by a cornhole tournament and car show attended by 360 employees and family members. A fun, family-friendly event for staff, the event boasts ways to get active, which is an initiative the Weld County Safety and Wellness team is proud to move forward. “This event is always a highlight of the year for employees,” said Weld County Risk Manager Kelly Leffler. “We’re excited to continue evolving and expanding it as the years go by and it’s great to see employees actively participating.”

August is Child Support Awareness Month! It's a time to recognize the importance of distributing regular child support payments to families, which helps promote financial stability, strengthen families, reduce the need for public assistance, and increase children's ability to become healthy, happy, and productive citizens in the future.
