?? Infertility Warrior: Making My Mess My Message ?? ??Inspired by the wise words of Robin Roberts, the time has come to turn “my mess into my message”. This June, I joined Wolf Pack - Therapy | Institute | Consulting as a Clinical Fellow, specializing in infertility, adoption competence, mood disorders, and trauma/PTSD. My professional and lived experiences allow me to offer empathetic, evidence-based support to individuals, couples, and groups facing life’s struggles. ??Early in my relationship with my now husband, we wanted to have a child. After months of trying and approaching 40, we knew we needed help. This led us straight into the turbulent waters of in vitro fertilization (IVF). ?? Infertility is a journey no one can fully prepare for. It’s filled with highs, gut-wrenching lows, hope, and disappointment. This life-changing experience re-shaped me personally and professionally. It has been both my greatest struggle and heartbreak, yet also one of my biggest blessings. ??This journey taught me how to better cope with emotions, cherish the small things in life, and lean into my support system. It also revealed the power in vulnerability, the gift of community, and the importance of self-care and compassion. ??To learn more about my infertility journey, read the full blog post at: https://lnkd.in/diJz7TrE ??To learn more about Wolf Pack Therapy and my therapeutic approach, visit: https://lnkd.in/gF9h7xWM ????My request to all who read this post: Please share with those who might benefit from my story or psychotherapy support. Like many other tests we encounter in life, the road can be isolating and lonely -- but it does not have to be this way! “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” - Maya Angelou #YouAreNotAlone #InfertilityWarrior #PowerinVulnerability #Infertility #GriefandLoss #AdoptionCompetence #TraumaResponsiveTherapy #CompassionateCare #MentalHealthisWealth #BIPOCPractitioner #GloballyEmpowered cc: Jill Wolf, LCSW, Chelsea Laliberte Barnes MSSA, LSW

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom and resilience. On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans were emancipated in Galveston, Texas, marking a pivotal moment in our history. ?????? Wolf Pack Therapist, Maléfi Ifágbayi Adéy?fá (he/him) shares thoughts about why Juneteenth is so significant for formally enslaved African Americans. Though enslaved persons had been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, many states didn't abide by the executive order, including Texas, and it wasn't until Granger and his troops arrived in Galveston with Order No. 3, a decree releasing those that remained enslaved, that the dehumanizing institution was finally abolished. The declaration led to an outpouring of joyful celebrations, and from them, Juneteenth was born (https://lnkd.in/gAnCm3eU) This declaration reached enslaved Black people years after Lincoln’s Executive Order, the “Emancipation Proclamation,” was issued. This federal decree was proclaimed, and the stipulations were clear. However, during the bloody Civil War, the Proclamation wasn’t enforceable in the southern states. Moreover, its universal success hinged on the Union emerging victorious in the war. Why call it Juneteenth? A blend of the words "June" and "nineteenth," Juneteenth has celebrated freedom for over 150 years but was recognized nationally in 2021 when President Joe Biden signed an order designating the observation as a federal holiday. "Juneteenth may mark just one moment in the struggle for emancipation, but the holiday gives us an occasion to reflect on the profound contributions of enslaved Black Americans to the cause of human freedom." —Jamelle Bouie Let’s honor this day by reflecting on our past, celebrating African American culture, and committing to the ongoing fight for equity and justice. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Emancipation #BlackHistory
