Lex’s project included a complete renovation of her bathroom, featuring a widened door, an accessible shower, and an overhead lift system that increases safety and improves the physical health for her and her caregivers by reducing fall risks. For safety and accessibility, we added a 6’ x 6 deck and ADA ramp off the room to exit the home faster in the event of an emergency. These modifications reduce the family’s worry, provides Lex with more independence, and gives them a the freedom to focus on what truly matters: celebrating and supporting each other. Our Family Fall Festival brings together local non-profits to create fun for kids and families in Wilmington, with all proceeds from festival games supporting organizations doing impactful work in our community. ??
