Vice President and Director, Weitzman Institute | Health Equity Sr. Scholar | Epidemiologist | Health Services Researcher | Marquis Who’s Who in America | CHIEF | 2024 Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World Award?
Follow up to my prior post: Filled with joy and gratitude to receive the prestigious "Most Influential Filipina Woman in the World" award from the Foundation for Filipina Women's Network under the category of “Innovator and Thought Leader: Pioneer of Progress.” Surrounded by fellow Filipina disrupters, trailblazers, and social change agents, I was honored at the Awards Gala Ceremony, the highlight of the 20th Filipina Leadership Global Summit, held at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park in Sydney, Australia, from October 27 to 31, 2024. The 2024 Summit’s theme "Femtech Futures: AI & Tech," celebrates women of Philippine ancestry who are transforming leadership in the global workplace. As part of this recognition and the Summit, I shared how our team at?the Weitzman Institute has leveraged technology to tackle pressing primary care and public health issues from upskilling the healthcare workforce, ensuring timely access to quality healthcare, and addressing the youth mental health crisis. My commitment to a two-year “Global Project” includes understanding the mental health needs of Filipinas and other women of color in the healthcare workforce (DM if you’re interested in learning more). Marily M., Founder and CEO of the Foundation for Filipina Women's Network, states, "The Global FWN100? awardees are not just leaders; they are visionaries who dare to reimagine the future. These women embody the spirit of innovation, resilience, and compassion that defines the Filipina on the world stage. Through their groundbreaking work in AI, technology, and beyond, they are not only shattering glass ceilings but are architecting entirely new leadership paradigms."
