Recently Weir proudly participated in the 1st Annual Symposium on Slurry Pipelines hosted by Flow Dynamiks. Our team was excited to showcase the capabilities of our GEHO? piston diaphragm pumps for long-distance pipelines. Currently, there are four long-distance iron ore pipelines active in India, including the recently commissioned Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd pipeline. Additionally, three more pipelines will start operation soon, all equipped with GEHO? piston diaphragm pumps, capable of transporting slurry over distances up to 550 kilometres and elevations over 2,000 meters. All seven projects are serviced by our professional and experienced local team from Weir India. During the event, we had the opportunity to meet with customers, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new projects planned in India until 2030. As a sponsor of the event, we also had the opportunity to give a vendor presentation about our GEHO? pumps which was well received and led to some insightful conversations. We had another fantastic year at the Women Tech Council's SheTech Explorer Day in Utah! With over 3,000 high school girls from 150 schools, this hands-on STEM conference was a great opportunity to share Weir's sustainability mission and the importance of mining. Our workshop focused on rubber molding, including LINATEX? rubber, and how it’s used to extend the lifespan of our products. It was a wonderful chance to connect with the next generation of women in the workforce who were attentive, inquisitive, and eager to learn more. At Weir, we are actively working to increase gender equality by focusing on building an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued and can thrive, including initiatives to attract more female employees through targeted recruitment, mentorship programs, and promoting women within the company. Events such as this opens the world of STEM to young girls and paves the way for more talented women to choose a career in our exciting industry.
