The Ravens and our charitable #partner, ?? Weekend Backpacks Baltimore, hosted a distribution and unveiling event today in #Baltimore City. The event featured the unveiling of a new vehicle funded by the Ravens Foundation, Inc., Maryland Food Bank and the HERBERT BEARMAN FOUNDATION INC – that will support Weekend Backpacks' mission to prepare and distribute more than 1,800 bags of food weekly to #students in need in the Baltimore area. Since 2015, Weekend Backpacks has expanded their service to now reaching students in over 50 schools throughout the region! In addition to backpacks ?? with food, students received age-appropriate school supplies and a visit from Ravens players, including ILB Trenton Simpson, OLB Roquan Smith, C Tyler Linderbaum, S Marcus Williams, Ravens Cheerleaders and Poe. #ourteamourcommunity

This morning, MAJ members met to volunteer for Weekend Backpacks Baltimore, an organization that provides food to Baltimore students experiencing food insecurity. Our members spent the morning filling dozens of bags with donated foods that will be delivered to children and their families so that come Monday, they're nourished and ready to learn. Thanks to all of our volunteers, we were able to make our donation goal! We appreciate you donating your time and energy to this cause. On October 5, 2023, Bowie & Jensen Associate Schyler Bailey hosted the Second-Annual Community Service Event for the Building Congress & Exchange Young Professionals Committee. Schyler is a board member of the BC&E and serves as the Young Professionals Committee chair. The event brought over 20 BC&E members to the Bowie & Jensen office to partner with Weekend Backpacks Baltimore, an organization that works in Baltimore City and County to provide meals and snacks to families who suffer from food insecurity, especially over the weekend. This year the group packed 600 snack bags, or 3,000 snacks, which is double the group’s effort from last year. The Young Professionals also donated the remaining snacks to Weekend Backpacks for future use and hope to continue this partnership for years to come. Building Congress & Exchange is a non-political organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening Baltimore’s construction industry. Since 1888, the trade group has brought decision-makers together to foster new relationships, and to educate and support its diverse membership. Schyler is an experienced litigator with extensive experience in construction law. Included in the Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters list of "Rising Stars" for the state of Maryland, she represents clients in a wide variety of construction and commercial litigation matters, including matters in arbitration, administrative forums and court.
