Meet Beth, an Eye Bank Specialist working with Connectlife since 2006. ?? Beth is using a slit lamp to microscopically view a cornea. Using the slit lamp, we are able to evaluate incoming corneas for any scarring, infection, or any other condition which may harm a potential transplant recipient. #eyedonationmonth #giftofsight #eyebank #weconnectlife #donatelife

Meet Jessica, she started with ConnectLife in 2024. ?? Jessica is packaging up a cornea for shipment. Connectlife sends corneas to local surgeons across Western and Central New York. Additionally, Connectlife works with eye banks across the U.S. and across the world through our international partners. If a cornea is suitable for transplant, our dedicated Eye Bank Team works tirelessly to find homes for our corneas. #eyedonationmonth #giftofsight #donatelife

Meet Brandi, an Eye Bank Specialist with ConnectLife since 2010. ?? Brandi is analyzing the endothelium of the cornea. Did you know a cornea is made of five layers? The innermost layer is called the endothelium. This endothelium layer is important for our vision, and if someone’s endothelium is damaged they may need a transplant. We perform a cell density count of the endothelium for all recovered corneas to make sure that our corneas are capable of restoring vision for our recipients. #eyedonationmonth #giftofsight #eyebank #weconnectlife #donatelife
