If you are medically dependent on electricity and need a safe space to shelter while Hurricane Milton impacts Duval County, two Special Medical Needs Shelters will be open for you to take refuge in. WeCareJax will be closed on Thursday, 9/26 and Friday, 9/27 due to the incoming storm. For those that need to evacuate, shelters open at 4pm today. JTA will provide free transportation. Medically needy shelters (that are pet friendly) are: Atlantic Coast High School and The Legends Center on Soutel. Stay safe and stay dry.
