As I reflect on my journey, I realize that education goes beyond classroom walls. We’ve been conditioned to believe that good grades guarantee success, but the reality is different. I had a live session with the incredible Pelagie Okorie who delved deeper into the often-overlooked preparations for the real world. Her life experiences have truly shaped her approach to education and we are pleased to all learn from her and the full conversation is up on our YouTube https://lnkd.in/eKuuU8hR Growing up, I watched my aunt build a thriving business from scratch, despite being unable to read or write. She employed others to manage her records, but I often wondered... what if???Just what if she had the basic skills to handle things herself? Her story taught me the power of practical learning. It’s not just about passing exams; it’s about equipping ourselves with real-world skills. But can she compete with the global world? The answer may be different! She still needs at least the basic level education. The traditional education system focuses on theory, neglecting practical skills and cultural understanding. But what happens when we graduate? We’re expected to navigate the world, make decisions, and innovate. That’s why I’m passionate about redefining education. We need to adapt and recognize that learning extends beyond school. It’s time to bridge the gap! Together we will keep pushing forward for a more holistic education. In the meantime, don’t forget to subscribe and share our growing channel ?????? Wecare4UAfrica

For every child who has suffered and died from Malaria, hunger and poverty in Makoko, Nigeria, we did this for you?? We conducted this health outreach in Makoko, to save the lives of other children, and to help them lead healthier lives. We believe that when there is life, dreams can come true?? We hope that our little labour of love has helped to provide quality healthcare to hundreds of children, and provided food to families, easing the financial burden in the face of Nigeria’s rising living costs and bringing happiness to their lives. Every #MenstrualHygieneDay reminds us that thousands of girls lack the resources to have a safe, healthier and comfortable period. We saw this first hand during our launch project where 90% of the teenage girls we met in Imo State, Nigeria use materials or rags for their menstrual period which can have a ripple effect on their education, growth and health. Let's come together to combat poor menstrual hygiene??, and period poverty and to create a #PeriodFriendlyWorld. #mhday2024 #menstrualhygieneday2024 #poormenstrualhygiene #periodpoverty #sdggoals #sdg2030 #sdg3goodhealth #goodhealthforall #menstruationmatters

During our outreach in Imo State, Nigeria, we conducted a survey and found that 90% of the teenage girls we met at secondary schools used materials instead of sanitary towels for their menstruation. This indicates that period poverty is still a significant challenge in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. We are dedicated to providing more teenage girls with essential menstrual products through our programs and partnerships to help address this issue to groom healthier and happier girls. Partner with us to make this a reality?? #menstruationpoverty #menstruationproblems #periodpovertyawareness #periodpoverty #periodpovertyawarenessweek #menstruationeducation #menstrualhygienemanagement #menstrualhygiene #menstrualhygienematters

It’s heartbreaking ?? to witness the difficult conditions that children and their teachers in certain communities have to endure in order to obtain an education in Nigeria and Africa??. It’s particularly disheartening to see teachers who have been in service for more than 10 years earning less than $10 per month, especially given today’s economy?? However, we are pleased that Wecare4UAfrica have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of this community in Imo State, Nigeria by providing scholarships to students, paying some of the staff salaries, and providing educational materials and training to help keep them motivated on their educational journey??. Here’s a recap of everything that happened on the first day of our school outreaches under our launch project with the theme- Empowering Tomorrow. This also emphasizing the critical role of organizations like UNICEF supporting and empowering quality teachers who are essential in shaping the future generation. Together, we have the power to impact positively. If you’d like to support us in our mission to help even more children and communities throughout Africa, there are several ways you can get involved: ??You can donate to our programs using the link on our profile, ??Share our page to help raise awareness, or ??Partner with us to reach even more children. #ChildrensEducation #GPEEducation #childreninslums #poorcommunitiesinafrica #ruralcommunity #communityengagement #communitiesinafrica #sdggoal3 #sdggoal4 #sdggoal #childrenseducation #childrenseducationfoundation #globalgoals
