Congratulations ?? to the Echo staff, and their teacher Mr. Donald Johnson, who were awarded a First Place International rating for its comprehensive news multimedia platforms from the Quill and Scroll. The Quill and Scroll judge said, "You have much to be proud of in your work. Most significantly, you’re not afraid to tackle tough stories, and you do so with consistency. You demonstrate the tenacity needed to find information, ask questions and keep following the story even when it’s difficult. Your work is a testament to the power and importance of student voices and scholastic journalism." ?? What an unforgettable night! ?? The grand opening of Moss Field at Alumni Stadium was a true celebration of our amazing community. This incredible moment wouldn’t have been possible without YOU – our students, families, staff, alumni, and community members. Thank you for your support! ???? Before the game, we recognized our naming rights donors, members of the For the W capital campaign, Prop S chair, community partners, board of education members and everyone else who made this project possible. A special coin-toss was performed by Adrian Clayborn, Dave Peacock and Bill Johnson. The memories are already being made, and we’re just getting started!

Webster Groves School District is proud to announce that?Meagan Lozano, Clark Elementary School nurse, has successfully passed the Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN) exam, earning the prestigious NCSN credential. This certification, accredited by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC), validates her expertise and commitment to providing exceptional care to our students and families. To achieve this certification, Meagan met rigorous qualifications, including holding a current RN license, earning a BSN or higher degree, and completing 1,000 hours of school nursing practice. The certification exam is known for its difficulty, with a pass rate of 75 percent. Lozano joins Rachel Winingham, Webster Groves High School nurse and district nurse coordinator in receiving distinct national certifications.?

We are thrilled to announce that Charlotte Heitgerd and Everett Bonzelet, students at Hixson Middle School, have won the Grand Prize at the 2024 Youth Entrepreneurship Pitch Challenge! Their business, Royal Canvas Stickers, earned top honors both at the state level and nationally, winning a combined $680 in prizes. Special thanks to Carolyn Recke, the Thrive Jr. Leader at Clark Elementary, for her guidance and support in their journey. Dr. John Simpson, superintendent of Webster Groves School District, will retire at the end of the 2024-25 school year. After nearly 30 years in public education, including 20 years with Webster Groves School District, Dr. Simpson leaves a legacy of dedication to students and community. He expressed deep gratitude to the community, emphasizing his passion for helping children "know, feel, and believe in their brilliance and beauty."
