We occasionally share some incredible structures that are created from concrete, but these tetrapods are more odd than awe-inspiring. Made from concrete, tetrapods are engineered to prevent and minimise erosion along the coastlines and to build seawalls. They use a tetrahedral shape and lock together to dissipate the force of incoming waves by allowing water to flow around them rather than against them. They provide a unique solution that fortifies coastlines and benefits local marine biodiversity. #Tetrapods #WeaverBaileyContractors #BuildingArkansas

With over 100,000 acres of right-of-way to maintain along 16,500 miles of state highways, litter is a major challenge in Arkansas. In 2020 alone, the Arkansas DOT spent $4.3 million removing nearly 47,000 cubic yards of trash. Organizations can make a difference by joining the Adopt-A-Highway program, which has involved over 4,500 groups since 1987. This initiative not only helps keep Arkansas beautiful but also raises awareness about the effort required to maintain clean highways. According to ACPA, concrete pavement increases fuel efficiency by three to seven percent for semi-trucks. This is because concrete’s rigid surface reduces rolling resistance, allowing vehicles to use less energy while driving. Over time, these fuel savings not only lower costs for drivers but also contribute to reducing overall emissions and environmental impact. #FuelEfficiency #WeaverBaileyContractors #BuildingArkansas

Over the past decade, women have made significant strides in the construction industry, gaining ground in both leadership and skilled trade roles. As of 2025, women hold over 20% of leadership positions, supported by mentorship programs and diversity initiatives. Skilled trades like electricians, welders, and heavy equipment operators have also seen a 7% increase in female participation since 2020. While progress continues, challenges such as workplace inclusivity and work-life balance still contribute to higher attrition rates among women in construction. #WICWeek2025 #WeaverBaileyContractors #BuldingArkansas

The Gomaco GP 3000 is an essential piece of equipment at our jobsite at the the Little Rock airport. The GP 3000 is "slipform paver" used for concrete paving, primarily for applications like curb and gutter, sidewalks, and road construction, allowing it to create smooth, consistent concrete surfaces up to 30 feet wide with the ability to adjust width easily depending on the project needs. It's known for its advanced control system and versatility in different concrete paving applications. #EssentialEquipment #WeaverBaileyContractors #BuildingArkansas

Arkansas DOT kicked off another year of their Slow Down, Phone Down campaign. It's a statewide work zone safety campaign urging all drivers to slow down and put their phone down when entering a work zone. Keep yourself safe, keep our road crews safe, and avoid getting a costly citation by slowing down and putting your phone down.
