We occasionally share some incredible structures that are created from concrete, but these tetrapods are more odd than awe-inspiring. Made from concrete, tetrapods are engineered to prevent and minimise erosion along the coastlines and to build seawalls. They use a tetrahedral shape and lock together to dissipate the force of incoming waves by allowing water to flow around them rather than against them. With over 100,000 acres of right-of-way to maintain along 16,500 miles of state highways, litter is a major challenge in Arkansas. In 2020 alone, the Arkansas DOT spent $4.3 million removing nearly 47,000 cubic yards of trash. Organizations can make a difference by joining the Adopt-A-Highway program, which has involved over 4,500 groups since 1987. Over the past decade, women have made significant strides in the construction industry, gaining ground in both leadership and skilled trade roles. As of 2025, women hold over 20% of leadership positions, supported by mentorship programs and diversity initiatives. Skilled trades like electricians, welders, and heavy equipment operators have also seen a 7% increase in female participation since 2020. The Gomaco GP 3000 is an essential piece of equipment at our jobsite at the the Little Rock airport. The GP 3000 is "slipform paver" used for concrete paving, primarily for applications like curb and gutter, sidewalks, and road construction, allowing it to create smooth, consistent concrete surfaces up to 30 feet wide with the ability to adjust width easily depending on the project needs. Arkansas AGC hosted a community service event at the Arkansas Food Bank yesterday, and Weaver-Bailey was represented by Jonathan Stalnaker and Scott Witherel. They said it was a great event and they enjoy being a part of AGC's community service efforts. The Connecting Arkansas Program recently released another quarterly Project Update for the our I57/67 job. ncluThe project includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes, between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11) in Jacksonville. The project also includes improvements at the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), the Gregory Street Interchange (Exit 10B), the Vandenberg Boulevard interchange (Exit 11), and conversion of the Frontage roads from two-way to one-way.
