I've just reviewed 100+ engineering applications ?? in the last week. If you're applying to a startup, here are 5 tips to maximize your chances:?? 1. Your resume is your landing page. Put your best hook at the top and keep it concise. You have < 10 seconds to draw a recruiter's attention. 2. Show, don't tell. Don't list all programming languages you know or say "I have great communication skills" - this is by far the least helpful thing for a recruiter. Instead, incorporate it into your accomplishments. 3. Highlight specific accomplishments in your prior experience: e.g., "Optimized model X that led to a Y% increase in conversion rate", "Founded a company, exited in 4 years with X revenue". 4. Resumes don't need to look pretty. Keep it simple and readable. 5. Bolding specific keywords can help recruiters scan faster. We have a checklist of minimum requirements before doing a deeper scan.
