Payment-related audits from CMS contractors pose the most significant financial risk to hospice providers today. However, many hospices remain ill-equipped to appropriately respond to these audits (e.g., Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE), Supplemental Medical Review Contractor (SMRC), or Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC) audits, etc.) and mitigate payment-related denials during the Medicare appeals process. We recently hosted our first Hospice Audit Survival Training and got some amazing community feedback. Should we turn this into a more regular training?
