Winter to date is the coldest in 7 years, January the coldest in 11 years as WTI expected a year-ahead. Winter seasonal category wins have been very significant YOY for items like auto batteries, heaters, Winter apparel, consumables, etc. Now the pattern get's a little milder but very stormy - a negative for store traffic. This is just the start of what will be the worst wildfire season in 10 years compared to the worst in 4 years last year and the nonexistent season in 2023 - least in 30 years. The rest of us are about to get the 3rd major Arctic outbreak, bringing the coldest air in 17 years and 2nd coldest in 40 years!
