Challenge your assumptions with the “One More” habit. Adopting a mindset of curiosity and openness can make all the difference in a world where it’s easy to fall into echo chambers. Here’s how you can practice “One More”: ? Ask one more question – Go deeper and uncover what you might have missed. ? Consider one more perspective – Step outside your comfort zone and explore a different point of view. ? Listen to one more voice – Seek out dissenting opinions to broaden your understanding. By actively inviting diverse insights, you’ll challenge your assumptions, strengthen your decision-making, and build more meaningful connections. What’s your strategy for breaking free from the bubble?

At Reflection Point, we embrace this approach by aligning with the strategies Ann outlines: 1?? Create Space for Dialogue: Our sessions offer a structured yet safe environment where teams can explore diverse perspectives and develop listening skills. 2?? Focus on Shared Values: We help teams uncover shared purpose and common ground by sparking conversations around universal human experiences through carefully chosen stories. 3?? Commit to Collective Growth: We guide teams in breaking free from entrenched mindsets, fostering curiosity and openness to fuel innovation and deeper collaboration. In 1711, poet Alexander Pope warned, “a little learning is a dangerous thing.” He was onto something—the Dunning-Kruger effect shows that beginners often overestimate their abilities. Yet too much expertise can be limiting too; it can make us inflexible, blind to new perspectives. One study found that 70% of psychiatrists sought evidence to confirm a misdiagnosis rather than challenge it. By learning to question our assumptions, we counteract bias, open up to others’ views, and broaden our thinking. Learn more about challenging assumptions to succeed at work: https://loom.ly/wPhlgko

One of the biggest hurdles to good decision-making is confirmation bias -- our natural tendency to seek information that supports our existing beliefs. This bias can block innovation, drive poor decisions, and hurt collaboration. To counter it, try the “one more” habit: 1. Ask yourself one more question. Probe deeper into the issue you’re trying to resolve. 2. Consider one more thought. Seek out information that doesn’t confirm your conclusions. 3. Listen to one more voice. Engage with someone who disagrees with you. Building this habit opens you to new ideas and makes you a stronger teammate. Read more: https://loom.ly/wPhlgko
