There’s something powerful happening in our community right now. As we move through International Women’s Month, we’re reminded that true empowerment isn’t just about individual success—it’s about collective growth. It’s about?going out of our way?to uplift the women around us, to highlight their brilliance, to support their endeavors, and to share the resources that can help them rise. We’re currently working on a client event, and the willingness to help has been overwhelming. The number of women who have stepped up—offering their time, their contacts, their expertise, and their energy—is nothing short of inspiring. It’s a reminder that when we break down the barriers of gatekeeping, when we move beyond exclusivity and scarcity mindsets, we create something infinitely more valuable: a culture of abundance, of shared success, of?real?support. For too long, success has been framed as something to be protected, to be held onto, to be earned through solitary struggle. But this community—this wellness community—proves that the old ways of hoarding knowledge, keeping opportunities hidden, or closing doors behind us are?over. The idea that success is a limited resource? That’s outdated. The notion that there’s only room for a select few at the top? That’s done. Now, we’re building something different. A space where women amplify other women. Where we say each other’s names in rooms full of opportunity. Where we pass along connections, make introductions, and offer advice freely. Where we celebrate each other’s wins as if they were our own—because, in a way, they are. So let’s keep showing up for each other. Let’s keep shining a light on the women around us. Let’s keep sharing our knowledge, our networks, our support—without hesitation, without expectation, simply because we know that when one of us wins,?we all win. And if this past month has shown us anything, it’s that there is more than enough room for all of us to?glow together.

Caitlin Herzig is a strength and conditioning coach at Monarch Athletic Clubs in West Hollywood, is no stranger to defying expectations. In honor of International Women’s Month, she shares her journey—from overcoming industry stereotypes to inspiring others through strength training. Breaking Barriers Early in her career, Caitlin was told she wouldn’t make it in sports performance because of her size and appearance. “I was told I was too pretty to work in this field,” she recalls. “That I wouldn’t be able to train guys—NBA players, professional athletes—because of how I looked.” Instead of backing down, she pushed forward, determined to prove that her skill, knowledge, and work ethic mattered more than outdated stereotypes. “I knew I had to be the best I could be—not just to prove them wrong, but for myself. And I did.” The Power of Resilience Another defining moment came with the loss of her mother. “It gave me perspective. I realized I needed to do my best every day—not just for myself, but for her. Her work ethic shaped mine, and every positive thing in my life is because of her.” That relentless drive fuels Caitlin’s coaching philosophy: show up, work hard, and lead by example. Balancing Career, Wellness, and Self-Care “Balancing it all is hard,” she admits. “People depend on you, and you have to be the example. There are days when I’m exhausted, but I know my clients are tired too. And if I expect them to show up, I have to do the same.” That means prioritizing her own health—eating right, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep. “You have to practice what you preach.” Facing and Overcoming Stereotypes As a woman in strength and conditioning, Caitlin has encountered skepticism. “There’s this idea that female trainers aren’t strong enough or won’t push clients as hard. I’ve had to prove myself over and over again.” Despite that, she sees progress. “At Monarch, people try out different trainers, and they see that our coaching styles are different, but just as effective. I’ve worked at places where men didn’t want to train with women—but here, my schedule is booked out weeks in advance. That shift is happening.” Advice for Women in Health, Wellness, and Sports “Find what truly excites you,” she advises. “I’m passionate about health, wellness, and fitness—especially helping women understand why strength training is important.” She’s dedicated to expanding women’s education in strength and conditioning, taking courses on prenatal fitness, pregnancy, and menopause. “There’s still so much work to do in this field for women, and I want to be part of that change. Strength isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about longevity, about showing up for yourself and your future.” “People underestimate what we can do. But strength training—getting stronger physically and mentally—is empowering. We’re proving, every day, that we belong in this space.” And she’s just getting started.

Last week was one for the books! We teamed up with?On to co-host a community run for our client?Monarch?in Venice, CA—and the energy was unreal. Huge shoutout to the? On?team for their incredible hospitality and for making every runner feel welcome, no matter their pace. And of course, big thanks to?Monarch?for trusting us to support their partnership initiatives. As runners, we’re always on the hunt for shoes that work?with?us. We love the idea of switching things up and finding dynamic footwear that not only performs on our long runs but also transitions seamlessly—whether it’s a quick walk to a meeting or a post-run coffee stop. No surprise we both opted for?On. We also admire? On's?clear and consistent branding, which brings a fun, fresh perspective to sport. Their campaigns push creative boundaries while remaining inclusive, making running feel accessible and exciting for everyone. A perfect example? Their recent?"Soft Wins"?campaign featuring?Elmo—pure genius. By blending nostalgia with modern culture, On redefines what it means to be an athlete, proving that sport doesn’t always have to be about pushing limits; it can also be about joy, playfulness, and self-expression. The mix of old and new, soft and strong, performance and fun—it’s a balance we rarely see executed so well in the fitness space, and we’re here for it.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to look beyond ourselves—to recognize the powerful, driven, and impactful women who shape industries, challenge norms, and lift one another. We are consistently reminded of the strength of the women around us—women who use their voices not just to educate and support, but to elevate. Women who say our names in the right rooms, who believe in our vision, and who make space for others to rise. In health and wellness, we stand among pioneers—women who push boundaries, create communities, and redefine what leadership looks like. Their strength is not just physical; it is the endurance to persist, the patience to play the long game, the courage to disrupt. Thank you for your leadership, friendship, and mentorship ladies!
