Jefferson Health, the region’s largest provider of primary care, is rolling out a new research-based tool for patients struggling with their weight. On Monday, November 11 Jefferson employees and family members came together with a shared passion for community service to volunteer at MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance). MANNA prepares medically tailored meals to improve health for individuals in the community with serious illnesses. The collaboration of multidisciplinary team members with organizations like MANNA highlights Jefferson's dedication to achieving health equity.
Dr. Divya Ayyala, from the Division of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, recently contributed to a The New York Times article addressing the rise in alcohol use during the pandemic. In honor of Veterans Day, Jefferson Leadership gathered to assemble 200 care packages for veterans. With 80 leaders participating, we delivered 100 care packages to the VA Outpatient Clinic in West Norriton and 100 to the Northeast Philadelphia Vet Center, as a small gesture to show our deep appreciation for those who have served our country. #TeamJefferson
Jefferson participated in Families Forward's Fall Festival in West Philadelphia! As a sponsor of the event, Jefferson was represented by five onsite teams, 24 volunteers offering blood pressure screenings and sharing resources on behavioral health support, cancer prevention, nutrition, and health plans. Families Forward, Philadelphia's largest family shelter, provided a great opportunity to support and connect with the community.
