The events industry has a choice. It can pay lip service to combating the climate crisis or it can do something about it. Where do you stand? Our film, The Climate is Changing and So Are We, features isla members who aren’t waiting for someone else to fix things—they’re taking charge together. Our members challenge the status quo, and prove that change is possible. A massive thank you to the isla members featured in the film and the over 2,500 event professionals who’ve been part of the isla membership over the last 4 years.? We're proud to see you driving change, redefining what’s possible, and leading by example. ?? ?? 关于我们
We work with agencies and brands, organisers and suppliers to provide guidance and support on environmental issues. We draw on expertise from across the sector to create a powerful network with the knowledge and confidence to facilitate change. Founded by events professionals and industry leaders, isla is a network and action-group. We bring together expertise from across the entire events sector and empower our teams with the confidence, knowledge and resources they need to implement new ways of working. Our focus is in three core areas: zero waste, 100% renewable, and carbon emission reductions. Our goal is to set short and long term targets in these areas and then track, measure, and report to support constant improvement. Through facilitation, education and reporting we will share knowledge, up-skill the industry and track our progress in order to rapidly and meaningfully affect change across our industry.

?? Our second and final day at Event Sustainability Live was another day of collaboration and learning at this isla Stage ? Our sessions covered live examples from our members on how their sustainability journeys are progressing, the importance of working together and insightful discussions on how we can push the boundaries of sustainability in the events world. Some interesting takeaways: ?? Hold leaders accountable! Training and engaging employees in sustainability initiatives create a supportive culture and inspire individual actions. This grassroots approach can amplify sustainability efforts and make leaders feel responsible. ?? Providing clients with clear information about the environmental impact and cost savings of sustainable options can encourage them to make more informed decisions. ?? onboard:earth offers various tools, including a travel emissions app to help individuals and organisations record and understand their travel impacts. ? And that's the isla Stage, over and out?- thank you to all our speakers and attendees and also a BIG shoutout to our Community Director Ellie Ashton-Melia for being such a brilliant host. #SustainableEvents #ESLive2024 #EventImpact?

?? Day 1 at Event Sustainability Live = a success! ?? What an incredible first day! ?? We were thrilled to host our very own stage, diving deep into the future of sustainable events and industry-wide innovation. Three of the (many) interesting insights we took from today: ?? Creativity and innovation is going to be key if we, as an industry, want to meet net zero by 2050 and we need data. Start measuring your carbon emissions even if you don’t fully understand what you’re doing yet - it will come. ?? There are organisations that are supporting the events industry to manage their food waste. Olio ? Share More, Waste Less are using their volunteer network to redistribute food to people who need it, using unneeded event food. ?? Legislation is a catalyst for innovation - the legislation that is currently being implemented within Europe encourages world leading projects and helps us get ahead with sustainability - it’s something to celebrate, not fear! A huge thank you to our inspiring speakers, passionate attendees, and everyone who joined us to champion sustainability in the events industry. Stay tuned for more insights and inspiration as we head into Day 2! ?? #SustainabilityInEvents #ESLive2024 #EventProfs

So, how is the industry’s sustainability journey going? Last month, we exhibited at IMEX America and took advantage of being surrounded by thousands of event professionals by gathering some fresh data on the show floor. ? Our on-the-spot research revealed interesting insights into how our industry's collective sustainability journey is going and answered some key questions: ? Do organisations have dedicated sustainability resources? ? How are individuals contributing to sustainability in their company? ? What are the perceived biggest sustainability challenges? ? What would drive improvement? With this new data in-hand, we’ve created a report so you can see the results for yourself and it seems that knowledge is power… Read full article: https://bit.ly/3UKGNoe #EventsIndustry #SustainableEvents #EvemntProfs
