Congratulations, shipbuilders! Jeremiah Denton DDG 129, the third Flight III Arleigh-Burke class destroyer to be built at our #IngallsShipbuilding division, has successfully launched. DDG 129 is now one step closer to joining the fleet and serving our nation. The ship now moves into final outfitting, systems activation, and testing. United States Marine Corps amphibious combat vehicles assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, disembark from the well deck of San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (#LPD25), built by Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII, as part of the Quarterly Underway Amphibious Readiness Training (QUART) 25.2 off the coast of Camp Pendleton, California, on March 9. Somerset is currently underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet. Our shipbuilders at Ingalls proudly build the San Antonio class of amphibious transport docks that provide the U.S. Navy and the Marines with modern, sea-based platforms for the execution of Expeditionary Warfare Missions. The REMUS UUV family delivers critical advantages across modern naval operations, including intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare. These autonomous systems can operate independently or teamed with crewed platforms — such as?Virginia-class nuclear submarines — expanding operational reach while reducing detection risk and personnel exposure.
